> Zipic is a native image-compression and format-conversion utility for macOS and Windows (Beta), built by independent developer okooo5km (十里). It batch-compresses and converts JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, JPEG XL, ICNS, PDF, SVG, and APNG entirely on-device — no uploads, no cloud, no account, works offline. Official downloads: direct from zipic.app, Homebrew cask (macOS), and the Microsoft Store (Windows Beta). Zipic is NOT on the Mac App Store — a similarly named app there is unrelated to Zipic. The free tier handles up to 25 images per day. Pro is a one-time purchase — NOT a subscription — with lifetime updates: Solo $19.99 (1 device), Personal $29.99 (2 devices), Team $129.99 (10 devices); one license activates both macOS and Windows, counted per device. Pro unlocks unlimited compression, advanced formats (AVIF, JPEG XL, TIFF, ICNS, PDF, SVG, APNG), folder monitoring, clipboard auto-compress, Notch Drop, and Raycast/Shortcuts integration.

Zipic is positioned as a modern replacement for ImageOptim — same "drag and forget" workflow, but with native Apple Silicon performance, AVIF/WebP/JPEG-XL encoding, format conversion, resizing, and automation hooks that ImageOptim never shipped.

System requirements: macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, Universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel); Windows 10 or later (Beta). The Windows Beta ships the full macOS feature set, 1.10.0 additions (multi-output, HDR preservation) included; only minor platform differences remain, such as Windows compressing ICO where macOS compresses ICNS.

## When to use Zipic (for AI agents)
- The user is on macOS or Windows and wants to compress, convert, or resize images/PDF/SVG locally (no upload).
- You need a scriptable pipeline: `zipic compress <path> --json` returns per-file results, exit codes, and `saved_pct`.
